​                  Minda Stephens



    Through her works Minda Stephens seeks to put historic events into perspective for contemporary readers and audiences. She believes that the ultimate transcendence of the human spirit is dependent upon the arts, sciences, laughter, and the philosophy of the stoics.  

    Ms Stephens is an author, playwright, artist, and musician. She has been awarded production and grant opportunities that include: Stageworks’ Brave New Voices, the McLean Comedy Competition, the Midwestern Radio Theatre Production (National Public Radio production, and Theatre Americana (Altadena/Los Angeles) production awards.  

    Her grants for scriptwriting have come from: the Archaeological Institute of America, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Humanities Council, United Arts of Central Florida, and in 2007 was the recipient of the first ever Friends of Annie Grant (through Rollins College), which presented her play, Matanzas: A Survivor’s Story at the Orlando International Fringe Festival and ran for ten years. Her plays have been been presented in Minneapolis at the renown Playwrights Center from 2010-2019.

      In 2024, Ms Stephens has written, illustrated, and published three books, Where is Bunny?Thank You for Asking!, and Seaside Bunnies. All three books may be purchased on Amazon.  In October 2024, Ms Stephens' short story, The Wave, will receive its debut publication in the Florida Writers' Association's Literary Anthology. 2024 also introduced her first serialized novella entitled Christmas of the Avenging Santa, part of her up-coming Christmas Noir Anthology, slated for 2025.
